TRIBES: The Four Agreements
      In order to establish and maintain a positive environment in our classroom, we will be using the four Tribes agreements. Agreements are the ways that we choose to be with one another.  We will help each other honor them in our classroom and school.
      Attentive Listening:  Listening closely to everyone's ideas and feelings, thinking and understanding what everyone in the class has to say.
      Appreciation /No Put-Downs:  Treating each other kindly and thanking for each action that shows caring and love. / Avoiding negative remarks, name-calling, hurtful gestures and behaviors.
      Right to Participate / Right to Pass:  Having the right to choose when and to what extent each child will participate in group activities / Knowing that voluntary participation enhances learning.
      Mutual Respect:  Treating yourself and others with respect, recognizing and respecting the value and uniqueness of each person.

     Rock River teachers have suggested Internet sites for kids to use to supplement what they're learning in their classrooms.
     Students have their own logins for Everyday Math.  Parents may want to use the online Student Reference Book to help with math homework.
     Spelling City is a fun site to practice your spelling words and handwriting.  If you're in 3rd grade click on the list for John Sankey.  4th grade click on Fourth Grade.  5th grade click on Gloria Schmidt.  6th grade click on Sadie Schultz.
This is a handy site to printout math practice sheets.  You can also print flashcards or do them online.  It covers addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, time, money, and fractions.  You can work with large numbers or decimals.

You can help real people to get real rice for free by correctly answering questions about any of these subjects.  Each correct answer is worth 10 grains of rice.  It's a fun way to learn something new and you help people at the same time.  It's a win-win situation!
